Transitioning this site to archive status
[Summary: this site is going to be locked down into a static, read-only form. All access to CVX & TFOCS will take place through GitHub.]
My professional commitments, particularly at Anaconda, have made it impossible to provide this site with the support deserving of a well-supported body of software. For that reason I have decided to formally transition this site to a static, read-only format and unambiguously declare the end of support available here and at ask.cvxr.com.
CVX and TFOCS will continue to be available indefinitely on GitHub:
In particular, please consult the Releases page to find the latest downloadable bundles of CVX. Having said that, I must strongly recommend that you migrate to CVXPY — the Python-based system for convex optimization that builds on top of the CVX legacy, adds significant new capabilities, and remains well supported by a thriving community.
For those that do wish to continue using CVX, it remains available for use at no charge for all use cases, personal, research, academic, and commercial. This includes its connections to MOSEK and Gurobi. The license management system in CVX has been removed, so you must obtain your own license for these solvers, and connect them successfully to MATLAB, before you can use them with CVX.
Unfortunately, the documentation and the pages of this web site still make references implying ongoing support. I apologize that we will not be able to scrub all of those references out. For that reason I will attempt to include a banner at the top of this site to make its archive status clear.
As of this writing, CVX and TFOCS combined have given me a Google Scholar rating of over 23,000, and and an h-index of 13. When we first released the MATLAB version in 2005, I could never have imagined it would have this level of impact. I am grateful to everyone who has been connected to this work in some way!
